When times are tough... ask yourself these questions.

Hi everyone!

Have you been taking on the world or have you found yourself feeling blocked on your way to success?

I know that at times we all find ourselves in challenging situations which bring us down and cause us to lose our confidence. When that feeling of despair strikes, don't fret... just remind yourself of a couple of things and ask yourself some questions that will help you regain your confidence and your will to carry on.

I've prepared a list of questions for you to ask yourself for this exact purpose. 😊 They are arranged in two groups:
The first group 'A' is about English and learning languages.
The second group 'B' is about yourself and your outlook on life.

A
  • What is my motivation for learning English (or any other foreign language)?
  • What do I hope to gain from learning and experiencing other languages and cultures?
  • Have I experienced enough of other cultures?

Think about these questions and remind yourself why you began learning English (or any other foreign language) in the first place.
Was it because you needed a qualification or certificate of knowledge?
Was it because you liked the language?
Was it because you have friends or family who speak it and wanted to learn more?

Now ask yourself more personal questions.

 B
  • Who am I?
  • Am I the person I want to be?
  • How would I describe myself?
  • What am I passionate about?
  • What are the most important things in my life?
  • What is my 'mission' in life?
  • What opportunities am I looking for?
  • What is stopping me from pursuing my greatest goals?
  • What drives me?
  • Where will I be in 5 years if I keep heading in the direction I am in?
  • Are the people in my social circle a positive influence on my life?
  • How can I make my life more meaningful, starting today?

Reflect on yourself. Don't be afraid to ask yourself these questions because you are asking yourself -no one will judge you or criticize you on your answers. YOU are the judge and the one that will steer yourself in the right direction (or simply put yourself back onto the right track).
There's nothing wrong with getting discouraged or having bad days. We all have them. As long as you don't give up. It's not easy to learn a new language or to start a new job or to move to a new city, but it gets easier when you find that you are able to overcome difficulties with a little effort and self-awareness. And don't be afraid to seek help. It is a way we grow and gain knowledge. Before the internet, we used encyclopedias and before colleges we passed on professional skills (trades) from one person to the other.

So the next time you find yourself having difficulty doing an exercise, re-read the grammar rules it involves or the vocabulary it includes. Take a five minute break and start over. Don't just give up and say it's too hard. The only way to success is hard work. And YOU CAN DO IT! 😆💪😁

A good way to keep yourself motivated is to find your 'mission' or to set a goal.

What's YOUR mission? What's YOUR goal? Is it to pass an exam? Is it to learn to communicate better? Is it to improve your grammar?
Whatever it is, I'm here to help.
If there is any area of English learning that you think I can offer assistance to you, please do not hesitate to let me know! 😀😊📚📝📧✅

Have a Fabulous Friday and a Wonderful Weekend!
Keep you head high and keep up the good work! 👍😁
Until next time!
